Apple iOS 4.3 brings new features
Apple has recently released a beta version of the next update to its iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch operating system, iOS 4.3 and with it comes a few new features.
Find My Friends is a feature that has been uncovered, however all we know about it is that it is called Find My Friends and is linked with Mobile Me.
We along with others on the web, think that this could be an opt-in location-based service like Loopt or Google Latitude, allowing friends to share their GPS location. It could just be for Mobile Me subscribers similar to the Find My iPhone feature, but allowing you to located friends who are signed up to the service.
Personal Hotspot, a feature on the new Verizon iPhone, is now a feature in iOS 4.3. Personal Hotspot will allow users to share their 3G connection wirelessly with up to 5 devices.
On the iPad side of things the mute / orientation lock switch now has an option for users to select whether they would like it to be a mute switch or an orientation lock switch.
Also coming to the iPad are new multitouch gestures involving four or five fingers, allowing users to pinch to go to the home screen, swipe up for the multitasking bar, and swipping left and right between apps.
iOS 4.3 is not yet available for the public as it is currently in beta testing, we will keep you updated, and let you know when a release date is confirmed.
